Seeking new Trustees

Carmel Russell from Kokomai Creative Festival - Wairarapa

The Wairarapa Arts Festival Trust (WAFT) is seeking new Trustees.

WAFT is responsible for presenting the Kokomai Creative Festival – the Wairarapa regions own arts festival. Our festival stages a programme of rich, exciting and wide ranging arts and educational experiences. The board is working towards presenting the fifth biennial festival in October 2021.

Creative New Zealand, Chief Executive - Stephen Wainwright says, “pulling together a [festival] like [Kokomai] is an enormous and valuable undertaking. It is important that regional communities can access great art experiences, and benefit from all the stimulation, community building and economic uplift that these provide”.

Our Trust is seeking people with time, energy, skills, connections and commitment to contribute to the successful governance of our organisation and the delivery of our festival.

We are seeking people who are passionate about the arts and understand the role arts can play in the revitalisation and well being of our communities. The Trust is particularly interested in people with governance and leadership experience, arts management, health and safety management, fundraising and sponsorship experience and small business or enterprise savvy. These skills are desirable but not essential to a successful appointment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with one of “the most important artistic happenings in the Wairarapa” and contributing to the rich character, good health and vitality of our region’s artistic community.

If you like to put your hand up for a part in our organisation send a CV and letter to apply. Please outline why you are interested and what you can contribute to WAFT. Send your CV and letter to administration@kokomai.co.nz

If you require further information please contact Carmel Russell, Board Secretary, administration@kokomai.co.nz or 021 656 185.

Applications close Thursday 3 December, 5pm
