New bleacher seating for Shepherds Park
New bleacher seating is being built on the bank at Shepherds Park near the Birkenhead United Association Football Club clubhouse. This project has been a longtime coming and it is great to see it taking shape. Thanks to the club, council staff and local board member Danielle Grant for her advocacy.
It's going to be a great spot to watch games!

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
