New bleacher seating is being built on the bank at Shepherds Park near the Birkenhead United Association Football Club​ clubhouse. This project has been a longtime coming and it is great to see it taking shape. Thanks to the club, council staff and local board member Danielle Grant for her advocacy.
It's going to be a great spot to watch games!
Funded by the Kaipatiki Local Board​.

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
