Hi I’m Mandy 🙋🏼‍♀️

Mandy from

If you’ve found this post on this page the chances that we’ve already met before are pretty good but if we haven’t met before (hi and welcome) or you’re just wondering why I have a page for my name, I’ll do a little introduction to explain how this page came to be.

A few years ago after my first daughter Veronica was born, I began a machine embroidery journey which has lead me through many twists and turns and ultimately opened up a lot of opportunities for me to connect with, inspire and help other machine embroiderers both within New Zealand and around the world.

At the beginning of this year I decided to try and simplify my life a bit as I made peace with the fact that I had pretty big dreams and I’m really determined to follow my passion. But.. it was getting a bit overwhelming. If you’re confused about what I do, don’t worry I get it!

After much thoughtful conversation and deliberation with my lovely friend and business coach, Debra Chantry (if you’re in need of some business help - highly recommend!) I decided to rebrand slightly under my name - Mandy Chamberlin.

✂️ Veronica and Me Designs
My business Veronica and Me Designs (very appropriately named after my daughter Veronica) is where it all started. Here I provide embroidered products (such as business apparel, wedding gifts and fashion accessories) and I also create embroidery designs for customers around the world (embroidery digitizing).

🌸 Echidna Sewing in New Zealand
On my machine embroidery journey I would always be in awe of all of the amazing products and accessories that were available in other countries for machine embroiderers. The opportunities available to machine embroiderers around the world to really take their creativity to the next level and get the most out of a hobby or business that fulfils them in a way that can’t be explained is truly incredible. Which lead me to my role as the NZ Manager for Echidna Sewing in NZ. While this isn’t a business I own, the NZ part of the business is really my baby and I spend so much of my time helping customers, inspiring creativity and connecting sewers and embroiderers in NZ with awesome Brother NZ machines and quality products and supplies.

💛 NZ Machine Embroidery Addicts
And last but not least, I connect machine embroiderers across New Zealand through the NZ Machine Embroidery Addicts which is such a passion project for me. I absolutely love helping and inspiring others and putting that together with my passion for machine embroidery just puts me smack bang in my happy place! The NZ Machine Embroidery Addicts is the FUN place for everything embroidery!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Night-time chipsealing works on SH2

NZ Transport Agency (NZTA)

From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).

During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.

There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
