The Te Papa peninsula, from the city centre through to Greerton, is well placed to support the growth of our city. It already has existing infrastructure, a range of services and activities, significant employment hubs and schools, and a mix of housing. That’s why we’re starting in the Te Papa peninsula to enable more people to live in this area, with more compact forms of housing, community spaces, retail and other businesses. Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
