Flu vaccination

The Team from Counties Manukau Health

It might seem confusing to be told “stay at home, stay in your bubble” and yet at the same time we are also encouraging people to visit their family doctor’s clinic to get the flu vaccination. It is still very important whaanau to get your flu vaccination in preparation for winter, and this can be done in a safe way.

If you are pregnant, over 65 years old, or an adult or child under four who has an on-going health issue, you can already get your FREE flu shot now!

But you must call your doctor’s clinic first and follow their instructions; they will take all the necessary steps to keep you safe. Call them now!

The flu vaccine does not protect against Covid-19; however it will help prevent Influenza, which is a serious illness.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
