Sports Stadiums New Plymouth
Good to see the move to support the design of the proposed Multisport Stadium for New Plymouth . I would like to see the $150000 come from the PDF though rather than be another load on the NP ratepayers. Before spending any money I would be interested to know what the process will be and what is the total cost of design stage - Is it part of the $50million? Furthermore I know the TRC are still proposing to proceed with their over the top re-build of Rugby Park but I think it is about time the NPDC and TRC ate a bit of humble pie and started to work together for good of the community. I have no problem contributing to one stadium but I do not believe we need or can afford two. By all means demolish or part demolish part of the Rugby Park stands if that is really necessary but let us put our major effort into the Multisport Stadium. It is not too late to put things right.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
