Free Home Composting Workshop
Do your food scraps go in the rubbish? Would you like to do something about that but don’t know where to start? Or don’t feel like you have time to compost? Come along and learn about how to compost and the different systems you can use in your backyard. After completing a workshop, your household will receive $40 off your choice of one of three easy-to-use compost systems.

Who is Let’s Compost and why these workshops?
Let’s Compost aims to inspire and support people to reduce food and garden waste going to landfill, turn it into a valuable resource for the garden and return the nutrients to the soil. We offer home composting workshops to the community. These are often based around existing networks, to help foster continuing support afterwards.
With the support of New Plymouth District Council’s Waste Levy Fund the workshops are able to be offered free of charge, with a $40 discount per household available on the cost of ONE compost system after attending a workshop.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
