Pounamu sculpture returned to Hanmer Springs pools after theft
A special carving stolen from the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa complex has been returned to its rightful place.
The pounamu sculpture was stolen from its plinth on the pool grounds in January.
The sculpture, carved from one of the largest greenstone boulders ever found in the South Island, was returned to the pool complex on Monday after it was polished by Ngāi Tahu master carver Fayne Robinson.
