Urban Gardening
Hi
My name is Kevin
I grew up in a small town in Taranaki called Kaponga so I am a Naki supporter but don't hold that against me [I cried this year though but they will be back] and a country boy at heart living in the city.
My father was a keen gardener.
My mother loved her flower gardens, and
My Grandfather was a keen gardener having a fruit orchard which me and my cousin Kerry used to sneak into and help ourselves to all the sweat juicy fruit from the trees, so I guess all that gardening has rubbed off onto me.
I have had many jobs but nothing beats being outside in the fresh air playing with the soil growing lovely fresh vegetables.
I am now cutting out a career as a Urban Gardener,
WHAT IS AN URBAN GARDENER:
Is a human being who turns unused lawn, back yard or for that matter front yard or section within city suburban or urban area into a editable organic food garden [no dangerous pesticides] and sells them at a farmers market, local market, restaurant or local residences keeping all vegetables fresh, safe and locally produced at a reasonable price, no transport or pesticide costs, just love for the land, good old hard labour, knowledge and common sense.
I am now looking for new area's where I can grow more of my vegetable's within the Auckland Southern Suburban area.
The area I am looking for should be approximately 600sq meter's up to 2 acres, reasonably clean not too overgrown, easy access and fenced off or able to be fenced off.
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU:
Free fresh, healthy and insecticide free vegetable's,
Or some sort of trade like lawn mowing section cleaning or other gardening etc,
Or small cash payment,
Nice clean and tidy looking area,
If interested in helping me call me on the below phone number.
Thanks for reading my letter
Kevin
Don't overthink this riddle...
I have a silver sole
but no feet,
I make my living by bringing the heat.

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️
First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
-
41% Yes - get rid of the clock changes

57.3% No, I enjoy it

1.7% Other - I'll share below
URGENT - Roaming Cat Disturbing our Rest During Silent Hours !
Tēnā koe (Hi) Neighbours,
First and foremost, I wish to bring to your attention an ongoing concern regarding the repeated presence of roaming cats within our property boundary during both daytime and nighttime hours. Previously, one cat had been entering our property in this manner; however, more recently, a second cat has also begun accessing our backyard and roof area.
On one occasion, late at night or in the early hours of the morning, I was unable to sleep due to persistent noise on our roof, which clearly appeared to be caused by the cat. On another evening, while having dinner, I directly observed the cat entering our backyard, climbing onto our veranda, and subsequently moving onto the roof.
Notwithstanding this, members of our household experience asthma, eczema, and allergy-related sensitivities, and the continued presence of roaming animals within our immediate living environment is adversely affecting our health and well-being, thereby creating unnecessary disturbance and avoidable risk within our residential space.
I therefore respectfully request that appropriate steps be taken to ensure pets are properly supervised and prevented from entering neighbouring properties.
Thank - you.
