Have your say on our draft Naming Policy. Among other changes, we’re proposing to add some provisions in the policy to encourage locally significant Māori names for streets, reserves, community facilities and other public places in Tauranga. If you participated in our survey earlier this year, your feedback has been taken into account but we’re now keen to get your thoughts on the full content and wording of the draft policy. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
