Did you witness an attempted van theft?
A man is in a critical condition after an attempted van theft went awry on Te Atatu Rd around 4am on Sunday.
One of the alleged offenders fled the scene in a vehicle, while the second engaged in an altercation with the owner of the van.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
