'One of a kind' Auckland teacher dies shortly after cancer diagnosis
Kirsten Meleisea, a teacher at The Gardens School in Manurewa, has died less than five months after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
She had been at the school since 2012 and deputy principal Kate Gifford said she would leave "an incredible legacy, but a massive hole."
She was "truly one of a kind," Gifford said, "the kind of person who inspires people just by being herself".

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
