Don Driver mural Update
One or two stragglers to come in but approaching 1,200 signatures.
The next part is to present this to Council together with my submission.
I have sent in my request for this, though it looks like the first opportunity will be at the end of February, no matter.
I am preparing it currently, but if anyone has anything they feel might be pertinent to the submission please feel free to either reply on here or send me a message; I believe in consultation, unlike our Council.
I can't promise to reply to you all, but everything will be given consideration.
I also look forward, once I can confirmed my request has been granted, to seeing as many of you at the Council chambers for that meeting; it is so important, after what so many of you have said about the mural's significance to New Plymouth's history, that we show our Councillors that they cannot sweep this under the carpet, or wash their hands of it.
Happy Christmas to you all and let's start 2019 off with a victory to the ratepayers, the very people who helped build our great little City.
What's your favourite recipe for courgettes?
Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

85.1% Yes

13.8% No
