St James Hanmer Springs named the best motel in New Zealand
Forget Queenstown, Bay of Islands or Waiheke Island. Hanmer Springs has the best motel in the country.
Moteliers Paul and Rae Baigent say they're over the moon with the victory. When they opened The St James eight years ago they planned to provide the best possible luxury accommodation experience in Hanmer Springs.
And Hurunui Tourism development manager Graeme Abbot says a win for one business in the region "is a win for us all".

Went to New World Christmas Eve brought some groceries and as I went to pay a
very kind Lady behind me in the queue reached out and paid for my purchase.
