Lower Hutt's retail sector has rebounded from the after-effects of the Kaikoura earthquake and the broader economy is looking solid.
The city's retail revenue grew faster than the rest of the region in the last quarter of last year, house building is up and Lower Hutt's population is undergoing sustained growth after years of minimal movement.
