Council taking a closer look at homelessness
Hutt City Council has launched a survey aimed at homeless people as part of its research into homelessness in Lower Hutt.
This research will form a basis for Council to discuss its role in supporting work currently being done to assist homeless people and families.
Council is asking agencies working with homeless people to encourage and assist them to complete the survey.
The survey runs until 13 March.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
