GNS Science is presenting a series of talks to inform, educate and raise awareness of key environmental and geological issues facing the Hutt Valley (and beyond) in the next 100 years.

Come along and ask questions to initiate an informed dialogue on the issues that will affect our region by 2100. Talks are FREE

Tsunami Risks – What’s the rush? Tsunamis are an ever present threat to coastal New Zealand. What are the implications for Petone and the inner harbour area? Dr William Power will discuss the areas of high risk around the Hutt and Wellington regions and discuss initiatives to protect local communities and raise awareness about the danger that tsunamis present. War Memorial Library Thursday 4 May, 6pm

Speed limits around NaeNae

Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
