Poll: Tsunami sirens decommissioned?
While many locals have been calling for more tsunami sirens to be installed, especially at Orewa, Auckland CDEM wants them to be decommissioned in favour of a single system across the city.
Civil Defence can reach the public by billboards, emails, SMS text messaging, helicopter and mobile loudspeakers, Red Cross hazard app, radio broadcasts, social media and websites. Do you think decommissioning sirens is wise?
