THAMES HERITAGE FESTIVAL AT THAMES MUSEUM
Thames Heritage Festival is on this weekend, 14th and 15th March, and at THAMES MUSEUM we have an interesting array of informal encounters: Ted Egan chatting about how he makes his models and other projects (Saturday morning); A Bit of Bling Ukulele Group playing old-time tunes and telling us more about their instruments (Saturday afternoon); Thames Branch of the NZ Society of Genealogists sharing hints about researching your family tree (Sunday morning) and how to write up your family history (Sunday afternoon). As well, on Saturday morning Rosalie, the Thames Storyteller, will tell a series of short stories covering Thames history from 1867 to 1886. Merv Tilsley will give free guided tours of the museum and there will be museum-discovery activities for children. The museum is open 10am-3pm. During the festival weekend admission is $5 for adults and children with an adult are free. For more information about the Festival events visit www.thamesheritage.co.nz...
