Severe thunderstorm watch
MetService has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Coromandel Peninsula.
Threat period: 10 hours from 2:00pm Monday to 12:00am Tuesday.
These thunderstorms may become severe, bringing damaging wind gusts of 110km/hr or stronger, with a few small tornadoes also possible. Wind gusts of this strength can cause some structural damage, including trees and power lines, and may make driving hazardous.
