Councils Declare Climate Emergency

Yesterday both Environment Canterbury (ECAN) and Nelson City Council declared a ‘climate emergency’. Christchurch City Council will likely follow on Monday, and a snowball effect will mean many more councils will make similar declarations in coming weeks and months.
