Future secured for Kawakawa pool
The future of the Far North’s only Council-funded heated public swimming pool is more secure thanks to an agreement between the Far North District Council, Sport Northland, Bay of Islands College and the Ministry of Education. For news about other Far North District Council projects and services that make the District a great place to live and visit, go to our website and read our latest Creating Great Places newsletter.
Te Papawai Community Pool is a 25-metre, six-lane pool located at the Bay of Islands Recreation Centre at Bay of Islands College, Kawakawa. Please phone the pool on (09) 404 0127 before visiting, because it is sometimes used by swimming clubs.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
