Feeling good
Two of my photos are being used at Whangarei hospital, I am very proud. Story below.
Many of the wards and corridors at all four Northland DHB Hospitals have been blessed with local art pieces over the years, which help create a more welcome atmosphere for our patients and their whanau when they spend time with us.
Most recently, Whangarei Hospital has been gifted works from Whangarei photographer Glen McMillan and Tauranga artist Sky…
Glen's images of Tui and Starling were shot in his backyard from his wheelchair and have captured the birds' unique colours.
When Glen was just ten years old, he fell from his bicycle and spent almost four years in hospital. He now uses a wheelchair as his walking has been affected.
Now 61, Glen has led a successful, happy life and has owned several successful businesses, three boats, and many cars, some of which he has raced over the past 30 years.
After investing in some professional camera gear and a concrete path right around his home, Glen has been photographing the birds that spend time on his large section and in the eight-acre native bush reserve that backs onto his property.
He said he loves learning and being creative and is now selling his work as wall art on his online store - www.homedecorideas.co.nz...
