Idle threats
I have written about unnecessary engine idling before here on Neighbourly, and received backlash and surprising excuses why idling is what you do. Just today I witnessed another instance of this at my local coffee caravan, when an insanely obese car pulled up, and the driver got out, leaving the keys in the ignition and the car's engine running for about 10 minutes while getting his coffee and treat.
I still can't wrap my head around why we would be doing this, and who taught us that this is ok. Fortunately I have EECA's Gen Less on my side, who published this article on their website today. Maybe it'll resonate better with people when it's coming from them? I sure hope so. Heck, even the Australians get it... ;-)
