SH1 Whangārei to Port Marsden Highway project is underway
Today NZTA sent me an email that planning for the Whangārei to Port Marsden Highway project is underway, with a preferred route due to be confirmed before the end of the year.
The Whangārei to Port Marsden Highway project is part of the wider Whangārei to Te Hana programme, aimed at building more resilient transport connections between Northland and Auckland.
If we have an interest in Whangārei to Port Marsden Highway, we can subscribe to project updates by email here.
Highlights of the project include four-laning 22km of SH1, the possibility of managed lanes (prioritising public transport, freight, multiple occupancy), separated walking and cycling paths, and of course safety improvements.
