Severe Weather Warning!

Parts of the North Island are expected to be hit by heavy rain and severe gales this week, as Cyclone Fili reaches New Zealand.

Be sure to keep mobile phones charged and ensure you have a car charger for your devices so you can keep in touch and keep informed. It also may pay to have a torch handy (they are safer than candles which can be a fire hazard) and have a gas bottle topped up for cooking. Current outages

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
