This week the Amazing Stephen Taberner visits Whangarei. Singing workshop and an acoustic performance.

Zoe from Central Whangarei

CONTACT ZOE 021 1522286 or through this site.

Stephen Taberner is a Christchurch lad best known for his leadership of the Australian based Spooky Men's Chorale who will be centring their second visit to New Zealand around appearances at WOMAD NZ. He also has 26 years of experience in cultivating ecstatic, grooving, blended sound from mere mortals. He's led singing weekends, choirs and large scale events all over the world.

WED 7th MARCH 6PM-THE SNGING CURE-In this workshop, he'll present his own cocktail of funky originals, thinking person's pop/rock, georgian delicacies, and cherrypicked world music bon bons, and use them as a portal into a world where open ears and a goodly collective pulse take us to a place where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. No previous singing experience is needed, just the desire to lend your voice to the greater cause. This will be an experience to leave your feet tapping, your chest zingling, and your heart light. $20

THURSDAY 8th MARCH-AN EVENING WITH STEPHEN- He takes to the stage with his double bass to titillate your ears with a sly array of quirky, funky and melancholic songs exploring, amongst other things, uninvited massage, the delights of doing absolutely nothing at all, and the archetypical small man syndrome. $20
