Whangarei Film Society - Screenings for Thursday June 1st

For Thursday, the 1st June at 6pm we are screening the film that won Brendan Fraser the Oscar for Best Actor, The Whale.
Our 8pm screening will be the Shanty-Singing Sequel, Fisherman’s Friends 2: One and All.
Both screenings will be in the Expo Hall on the ground floor as our usual venue, the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre, is unavailable.
The Whale
USA, 2022, Drama, 109 mins, Rated M (coarse language)
Cast: Brendan Fraser , Sadie Sink, Hong Chau, Samantha Morton.
The Whale follows the life of Charlie, a morbidly obese English teacher who realises his time is running out when he suffers heart failure.
As such, he begins to take stock of his life and spends time with his friend, Liz. And she inspires Charlie to reach out to his now teenage daughter, Ellie whom he has little contact with since she was young.
