In 1937, Lee Miller is a former fashion model and aspiring photographer in London. She gains employment with Vogue magazine during World War II, photographing Britons during The Blitz.

But Her ability to document the war is restricted, due to the UK barring women from serving near combat. However, after the US enters the war in late 1941, Lee is assigned as a war correspondent alongside photojournalist David Scherman.

It is later, during the Liberation of Paris, that Lee reconnects with friends who tell her of the thousands who went missing during the German occupation.

So Lee and Scherman enter Nazi Germany and document the immediate aftermath of atrocities committed at Buchenwald and Dachau, giving the world some of the 20th century's most indelible images.
