Do you want to have a say on what happens in your neighbourhood?

Denise Piper Reporter from Whangārei Leader

Voting for the local body elections - including Whangārei District and Northland Regional councils - will be held this year in Spring. But just 89% of eligible voters in Whangārei are enrolled, with those aged 18 to 24 having the lowest rate. The Electoral Commission says everyone aged over 18 should've received an enrolment update pack by now. If you haven't, or you need to update your details, go to vote.nz or call 0800-36-76-56.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
