We're in drought and there's a fire ban: Why are people still lighting fires?

Northland principal rural fire officer Myles Taylor says lighting fires in extreme conditions like this is stupid and ludicrous, and could cause a fire with catastrophic consequences. He encourages anyone who sees smoke to ring 111. Why do you think people are still lighting fires?
