Happy 25th birthday to Donald the duck!

Caroline Williams Reporter from Whangārei Leader

Birthday celebrations are in order, as a Northland duck - aptly named Donald - turned 25 years old on Saturday. Donald's owner, Shane O'Leary, believes Donald could possibly be the oldest in the world.
Pekin and Indian runner crossbreed Donald was rescued as a ducking from a flood on December 7, 1994, in Hukerenui. A duck's average life expectancy ranges from five to 12 years, however Donald is showing no signs of slowing down. His favourite activities are swimming and diving in his pond.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
