Large fire at Town Hall

Neighbourly.co.nz

The mayor of Whangārei says it is a tragic day as hundreds gathered to watch firefighters battle a large blaze at the Town Hall.

Emergency services responded to a "well involved" fire at the Municipal Building, also known as the Town Hall, on Bank St just before 1pm today. Multiple fire engines had been sent to the blaze.

All people have been accounted for, and road closures are in place.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
