Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

The Team from Whangarei District Council

We've teamed up with Inspiring Communities to offer a free 'Community Led Development’ kickstarter training package with online learning modules and two workshops.

Community Led Development is a leadership style which helps you collaborate, take action, organise groups and grow the skills of people around you. They say "The ‘little things’ we do are often actually the seeds of ‘big things’ in the community."

Register by Saturday 30 November 2024 to take part. Your online modules can be started straight away and are due by the first workshop on Tuesday 18 March 2025. The second workshop is on Tuesday 25 March 2025.
