Reshaping Streets public consultation
The Minister of Transport is proposing regulatory changes to make it easier for local authorities, like councils, to make street changes that support walking, cycling, public transport, and placemaking. We are invited to provide our views on these proposals.
Some regulations for managing roads are almost 50 years old and outdated. The proposals include new approaches for changing street layouts, piloting, or trialling street changes, and for restricting vehicles from some streets.
We can find out more about these proposals, and how to have our say on them, here.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
