I wanted to share this WDC is starting to listen to DPA Northland
Just a snippet of the WDC Active Recreation and sport summary findings
People with disabilities
Accessible facilities and programmes
Need a good supply of universally accessible facilities and outdoor activity areas
Improved information required on the opportunities available
Wider consideration of access needs (e.g. pathways round/ adjacent to the sports field, lifts to accommodate mobility scooters)
Work to ensure all facilities have accessibility audit and improvement plan.
Transport and parking considered a significant barrier to accessibility
Provide increased access to mobility scooter charging points
