Geoff from Central Whangarei

Good People

The film night for Thursday 26th June for WFS will be in the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre at Forum North, 7 Rust Ave Whangarei.

At 6pm, WFS will screen Tarrac, an uplifting Irish drama about family, community and ocean rowing.

Our 8pm screening is The Outrun, a powerful story based on Amy Liptrot’s best selling memoir about a woman's return to her home in Scotland.

Tarrac
Ireland, 2024, Drama, (Gaelic/English with subitles)
95 mins, Rated M - offensive language
Starring: Lorcan Cranitch, Cillian O'Gairbhi, Kate Nic Chonaonaigh, Kelly Gough, Kate Finegan, Rachel Feeney, Muireann Ní Raghallaigh.

Aoife returns home to help her father Brendan ‘The Bear’ in his recovery from a heart attack. During this time, Aoife is forced to face the grief of her mother’s death and reacquaints herself with her old rowing friends.

Tarrac is a drama set at the edge of the world, the coastlines and sea of the Dingle peninsula. A place of wild geography, where the weather and the people have a mind of their own.

Laced with humour, heart break and exciting action set against the stunning landscapes and seas of the Kerry Gaeltacht, Tarrac is about daring to care again and the power of forgiveness.
