Waitangi Day volunteering opportunity
CBEC Ecosolutions is seeking volunteers to assist the public with recycling at the Official Waitangi Day celebrations on February 6th 2018 – Help out for half the day and spend the other half enjoying the festivities! This is a great opportunity for you or your club or group to give back to the community and help the environment. Volunteers will be provided with lunch money and transport to Waitangi or fuel vouchers. Training and PPE will also be provided. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
