Northland Youth Theatre's Summer Show opportunity
Northland Youth Theatre is super excited to announce that they have secured funding from Creative New Zealand and sponsorship from Northtec to go ahead with the 2017 Summer Show. The show will be a new work based on the whakatauki ‘Te Whare Tapu o Nga Puhi’. They would like to invite young people in Whangarei to be part of the show.
They have a talented team on board to lead the project, Co-directors Chris Graham and Waimihi Hotere, Movement Director Kelly Nash and Music Director Joby Hopa. Jess Collins, NYT’s manager will be on site for the duration of the rehearsals and accompany the tour as camp mum/support person. We are also gathering a team of cooks and kaumatua and kuia.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
