Loving home needed for beautiful little Tinkerbell....
Hello neighbours,
I am moving to Australia and need to find a very special new mummy/family for my beautiful little Tinkerbell. This is a heartbreaking decision for me, as I was hoping to take her with me, however, given her temperament, I believe it would be best for her to remain here in NZ.
Tinkerbell is still a cute little fluffy at approx. 3.5yrs. She appeared out of the bush whilst I was living on a farm, in Warkworth in the middle of nowhere, and must have only been around 6-7wks old. Tinkerbell is still very cute and small but has a big personality, though is very shy. Once she trusts she is very affectionate and loves to play, especially hide and seek, so would love being around someone with a playful nature. She is used to being part of a large cat family as she was number 7 when she found me.
Tinkerbell does need company of at least one other cat as she loves playing, so preferably one who is energetic/fun to hang out with. I am not sure how she would interact with dogs or young children but she is sensitive to noise so a quieter household may be more suitable. She is quite the explorer and spends a lot of time in the bush (her safe place), up trees and under buildings, so finding a home with access to bush/trees is a must for her. She likes to have her escape routes and hiding places for observing.
I have no idea where she came from but she has been a real gift. I would love to rehome Tinkerbell with Possum if possible (see separate post), but it is not absolutely necessary. If you or someone you know may be interested in adopting Tinkerbell I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for reading.

Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
