Loving Home Needed for Minou & Bentley ASAP!!
Please help! We have THE most lovely natured, mature cats, who we took on about 9 months ago. They were young rescue cats and had a lovely situation on a lifestyle block down South, with a couple from Wales for 7 years.
Bentley (tabby with white front) and Minou (black with white) are beautiful souls, friendly and they are siblings so it would be great to keep them together.
We had a home lined up for them but it was delayed for months as the lady was waiting for a house to be built. Sadly she then had a health issue and a big set back so that opportunity was lost.
They are really lovely cats and we feel very sad for them as they have been cooped up so long.
We tried putting them out into the sanctuary but Minou, in particular, just hid away and Bentley didn’t look happy at all, so we put them back into their own space. We have since, had to put 2 very young cats in with them and they were fine, so we think it was just the number of cats that was overwhelming for them.
They desperately need some open space of their own, which was what they were used to. If you have a large garden or lifestyle block and can help we would love to hear from you!
Please email me in the first instance.
We can guarantee you will love these two cats and they really deserve a loving home after waiting so long.
The NZCF have an amazing facility where they are currently taking care of over 150 rescued cats and are at full capacity. They are always looking for reliable volunteers to help with the running of The Cat Sanctuary. Please check out their website www.thenzcatfoundation.org.nz...... or contact me for more information.
We would really appreciate your help! :)
Thank you
Sharon

Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
