The group targets opossums, rats and mice. Various types of traps are used. Timms traps are used to catch opossums, ambush traps target rats and mice and other bait stations are set up target opossums and rats. The traps and bait stations have to be checked and replenished periodically. This involves trappers covering many kilometers as they crisscross the various tracks and trails across the park, checking each numbered trap and recording the amount of activity at each trap.
