What do you think of the thousands of extra truck trips between Auckland and Northland?
There are safety and congestion fears for the road north of Auckland, because a container ship diverted to Northland will result in nearly 2700 more truck trips before Christmas.
Whangārei’s Northport has agreed to unload 1340 containers off the ship Constantinos P, due to congestion at Ports of Auckland, but National Road Carriers is warning this means 2700 extra truck trips between Marsden Point and Auckland. Are you concerned about these extra trucks?
PINK Auckland Council approved compostable bin liners.
We bought a pack of these from Silverdale Pac N Save yesterday and took one off the roll this morning only to find that they are faulty. The base has been folded before being welded, the base doesn't open out so it's capacity is onsiderably reduced. Anyone else notice this or is this just something else from Auckland Council that's not fit for purpose.
Say goodbye to tyre waste
About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.
The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.
Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.
