Hi neighbours, Oscar-winning filmmaker and actor Taika Waititi is portraying “the voice of racism” in an initiative that aims to stamp out the problem in Aotearoa.
He has voiced racist comments – such as “go back to where you came from” – made to New Zealanders as part of the Human Rights Commission’s Give Nothing to Racism campaign, published by the commission on an interactive webpage. Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
