Free Toddler Sleep Workshop
Kia Ora everyone,
We would like to invite you and your whanau to our free toddler sleep workshop to be delivered 7 pm Tuesday 13th November 2018 on Red Beach Church, Whangaparaoa Peninsula.
This workshop is jointly hosted by Annette Faamausilli, the sleep consultant from Serene Sleep; Childcare at Home, and Fairy Godmothers Home-based Childcare.
Want to better understand your toddler's sleep pattern and be one step ahead of their ever-changing needs? Annette’s sleep workshop will help you navigate through some of the common sleep hurdles, have a true understanding of what to expect and how to implement positive effective changes.
She will be covering:
*Early rising - how to prevent it and how sleep trainer clocks can be worth their weight in gold.
*Cot to Bed Transition- Top tips on making this tricky transition a smooth one.
*Managing day naps/transitions and when to drop the nap altogether.
*Comfort blankets - the perfect bedtime companion.
*Establishing positive sleep habits - how to implement self-settling techniques
*Under tiredness - what it means for your toddler and it's role in poor night sleep.
*Ditching the Dummy - When, how and why.
As space is limited, your reservation of the ticket is required. Please do so by completing the simple online registration on www.eventbrite.co.nz... by Monday 12th November. Otherwise, you can email us on info@fairygodmothers.co.nz or info@childcareathome.nz. There is no registration fee for workshop participants and light refreshment will be provided.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
60.1% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.7% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.3% ... It is complicated
Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
-
88.5% Community feedback and transparency is needed.
-
11.5% No. This would be impossible in practice.
