AI is a massive topic right now, and I’m feeling inspired to share what I know with our local community. Whether you're a curious retiree, a busy professional, or just someone wondering what the fuss is about—all ages are welcome!
What we’d cover:
* The "Why": Why has AI become so big so quickly?
* Practical Use: Why are people so eager to learn it for daily life?
* Safety: Real talk about concerns and how to stay secure.
* Open Q&A: Bring your burning questions! I'll be there to discuss them with you and the group.
A bit about me:
I’ve spent 20+ years in tech, providing services for Fortune 25 companies, the Ministry of Defence, the NHS, and even Buckingham Palace. I’m now back home in NZ, running Tech2U, and I want to share my passion for tech with my neighbours in Whangaparāoa, Silverdale, and Orewa.
I need your help with planning:
I’m thinking one of our local libraries would be a great spot. What do you think? If you have a venue idea or want to let me know which suburb would be most convenient for you, please drop a comment below!
Warm regards,
Tristan Lee-Johnson

Hope everyone is keeping safe in these Auckland stormy conditions.
Just wanted to let you all know that Shoreside Trees has emergency arborist tree crew teams available 24/7 if you have any fallen trees or hazardous and dangerous trees.
We cater to all markets – residential, commercial, lifestyle blocks or rural properties. There is no tree too small or too big that we cannot handle or not be willing to help you with.
All this wet weather saturates tree roots and these extremely strong winds can potentially cause failure to your trees which can cause damage to surrounding trees, landscaped and planted areas and to your property.
If you are worried about any of the trees on your property – please call Stu directly on 021 175 8660 or 0800 920 013 as he will be on the road quoting 24 /7 over these next few stormy days. If no response, please send a text as Stu clears the phone hourly.
Stay safe out there Neighbours.

Wood table & 4 chairs. Not sure what kind of wood. Possibly Rimu. Good condition and no damage, just a few small marks on table top which you can hardly see. I have upgraded to a larger table. This is a small table, perfect for a small space and plenty of life left in it.

Suspicious, I played a long to see what the scam might be. While credible at first, the questions moved to what I used my computer for and when I refused to answer these he rang off.
The "arrange a time to send a technician" was to appear credible and gain trust, followed by the scam.
