Pest Free Hibiscus Boating Event - 29th Feb

Jenny from Gulf Harbour

We invite all boat owners on the Hibiscus Coast to come along on Saturday 29th February and find out how you can help to protect wildlife both at home and on pest free islands.

Drop in any time 8.30am-10.30am to the Yacht Club / boat ramp area.

Get a free rat trap to take home and join the Pest Free Hibiscus Coast Project, and enjoy a sausage sizzle for brekkie before heading out on your boat!

The event is brought to you by Hibiscus Coast Forest and Bird, in partnership with Gulf Harbour Marina, Gulf Harbour Yacht Club and Auckland Council.

This event is also to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, and Seaweek 2020.

No charge but koha welcome.

💡 A Little Brain Buzz for You⚡

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

I have two faces, but show you only one.
I once had guests, but now have none.
I’m rarely bloody and seldom blue.
I’m often promised and sometimes new

(Trev from Tamatea kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Trev!)

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
