Flexman/Titan Public Reserve

David Neighbourly Lead from Orewa

As the long, hot, dry summer drags on it becomes increasingly difficult to keep alive, recent plantings of native seedlings in the Flexman/Titan Reserve. Vern Rule (pictured) waters these trees almost every day carting water in plastic containers from his home. It is to be hoped recent intense mulching will keep these trees going until the much needed autumn rains arrive. They will then have a chance of growing into the type of canopy that can be seen on the left of the photo looking up the concrete drive.

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Auckland has a thriving cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures across the country, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
