Poll: Offering a free lecture on AI +Plus live Q&A?

Tristan from Tech2U NZ Ltd

Hi Neighbors,

AI is a massive topic right now, and I’m feeling inspired to share what I know with our local community. Whether you're a curious retiree, a busy professional, or just someone wondering what the fuss is about—all ages are welcome!

What we’d cover:
* The "Why": Why has AI become so big so quickly?
* Practical Use: Why are people so eager to learn it for daily life?
* Safety: Real talk about concerns and how to stay secure.
* Open Q&A: Bring your burning questions! I'll be there to discuss them with you and the group.

A bit about me:
I’ve spent 20+ years in tech, providing services for Fortune 25 companies, the Ministry of Defence, the NHS, and even Buckingham Palace. I’m now back home in NZ, running Tech2U, and I want to share my passion for tech with my neighbours in Whangaparāoa, Silverdale, and Orewa.

I need your help with planning:
I’m thinking one of our local libraries would be a great spot. What do you think? If you have a venue idea or want to let me know which suburb would be most convenient for you, please drop a comment below!

Warm regards,
Tristan Lee-Johnson

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?

Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

Make a hearty dish. Take just half a minute. Add four parts of kestrel. Then just add one. What have you made?
