Poll: Does Taupō need more tall buildings?

A new 7-storey hotel with a rooftop pool could be an iconic feature of the Taupō CBD skyline in coming years. The proposed hotel is yet to be approved but it would be the tallest building in Taupō.

Developers want to use an undeveloped carpark on Tuwharetoa St, beside Vine Eatery & Bar, and opposite Hell Pizza. The carpark is privately owned. The proposed hotel features 86 rooms and a roof-top pool, restaurant and bar, according to its resource consent application.
